The Russian combat robot "Marker" acts faster than a human when using a rifle complex, this was shown by the tests carried out, follows from the report of the executive director of the NGO "Android Technology" Evgeny Dudorov.
Tests of the Marker robot, armed with a rifle complex and a grenade launcher, showed that the robot reacted faster to emerging targets, recognized them and hit them more accurately than a human. Moreover, the "Marker" showed high performance both when shooting from a standstill and in motion. As the developers explained, the robot has different drives for the aiming unit and for armament, so it is able to hit several targets at the same time.
- the report says.
To date, developers are working to improve the accuracy and selectivity of shooting, including high-speed aerial targets. The robot has already learned how to shoot down drones, including small ones. In May of this year, it was reported that the Marker platform was being tested with various types of weapons: a machine gun, a grenade launcher and anti-tank complexes, in particular the Cornet.
The beginning of testing of the Marker robotic platform, created jointly by the Foundation for Advanced Research and the NGO Android Technology, was reported in early March 2019. The platform is designed according to the modular principle. The ultimate goal of the Marker project is to create a fully autonomous complex capable of independently performing a wide range of tasks.
