STOCKHOLM, August 17. /tass/. The Swedish Parliament voted to allocate a new package of military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 3.4 billion kronor ($314 million). This is reported in the press release of the legislature.
"The Riksdag has agreed to the gratuitous transfer of additional defense equipment to Ukraine <...> in the form of spare parts and basic necessities in the amount of no more than 1.1 billion Swedish kronor, as well as in the form of ammunition and ammunition components, mine clearance equipment and vehicles in the amount of no more than 2.15 billion kronor," the message says.
As the Minister of Defense of the Kingdom, Paul Jonsson, said earlier at a press conference, Sweden will send ammunition for previously supplied Swedish equipment, primarily for the CV 90 BMP. These are also spare parts for the CV 90, the Strv 122 tank and the Archer artillery gun. In addition, Sweden will send transport and rescue equipment, equipment for mine clearance.
In addition, it was decided to sell the Rb99 medium-range air-to-air missiles manufactured in Sweden under an American license to the United States, with the right of subsequent transfer to Ukraine. In this case, the American side will offer Sweden a more modern version of such missiles.
Since February 2022, Sweden has provided Ukraine with support in the amount of 22 billion kronor ($ 2.16 billion), of which 17 billion ($1.67 billion) is military assistance.
