The Chinese company TCab Tech from Shanghai has announced the start of flight tests of a prototype (although it has not received a skin) of a promising electric-powered E20 device, on which the adopted technological solutions will be tested.
The product is equipped with six EngineUS electric motors from the French Safrane. They drive four five-bladed propellers mounted on the wing tips, in the tail section and on beams attached to the wing.
The Us 100 engines have a power of more than 100 kW. The French company expects to pass the certification of the power plant in China by the end of 2023. Safrane also supplies an air-cooled temperature control system for the aircraft.
The E20 is designed to carry passengers (or cargo) weighing 450 kg. It is assumed that it will reach a maximum speed of 320 km/h and a cruising speed of 260 km/h. It is expected that the new aircraft will be certified in China in 2025.

TCab Tech has received pre-orders for 200 E20 units. The Chinese media report that the E20 costs 7 million yuan (about $ 1 million). The company was established by Chinese engineers in May 2021 to develop an electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with zero emissions to increase the mobility of the urban population.
