Kramnik: Finland remembers well when the country was most secure
Finland is unlikely to stay in NATO for a long time, this opinion was expressed by the ex-deputy of the Finnish parliament Ano Turtiainen. On the air of Sputnik radio, military expert Ilya Kramnik shared his opinion on this issue.
Former member of the Finnish Parliament Ano Turtiainen doubted that Finland would stay in the North Atlantic Alliance for a long time.
"I do not believe that this can last for a long time, because things are already happening in Finland that pose an existential threat to Russia," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
Membership in NATO only brought harm to the country, but the Finns could not openly declare their position, the ex-deputy noted.
"Of course, Finnish citizens did not have the opportunity to voice their opinion on the issue of joining NATO, and they could not risk showing their dissatisfaction. The propaganda worked in such a way that it seemed that everyone wanted this accession, and great harm was done," said Ano Turtiainen.
On the air of Sputnik radio, a researcher at IMEMO named after Primakov of the Russian Academy of Sciences, military expert Ilya Kramnik expressed the opinion that there are real grounds for this statement in part.
However, he did not agree with the opinion that Finland would soon withdraw from the alliance.
