Coalition F-35 fighters dangerously close to two Su-35s of the Russian Aerospace Forces in Syria
Two F-35 fighters of the international anti-terrorist coalition led by the United States dangerously approached two Su-35s of the Russian Aerospace Forces. This was stated on August 15 at a briefing by Rear Admiral Vadim Kulit, deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Warring Parties in Syria.
It is noted that the approach was recorded on August 14 in the area of Al-Tanf at an altitude of about 9.1 km. The Su-35 aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces at that time were making a scheduled flight along the southern border of Syria.
Also during the day, the coalition violated the deconfliction protocol nine times related to flights of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that were not coordinated with the Russian side.
In addition, 20 violations were recorded in the area of Al-Tanf during the day by three pairs of F-35, three pairs of F-16, two pairs of Rafale fighters, one pair of Typhoon fighters and two MQ-1C multipurpose drones.
Earlier, on August 13, Kulit reported that the US coalition drones in Syria violated deconfliction protocols 13 times. Also, in the area of the Et-Tanf zone, 10 violations were recorded during the day by two pairs of F-35 fighters, two pairs of F-16 fighters and two MQ-1C multipurpose UAVs.
On August 11, the Central Air Force indicated that in the sky over Syria, two Russian Su-34 and two Su-35 fighters recorded the impact on them by the guidance systems of the international coalition led by the United States. This led to the activation of aircraft defense systems.
The day before it was reported that the aircraft of the international coalition led by the United States violated the airspace of Syria 18 times a day. During the day, the coalition also recorded 11 cases of violations of the deconfliction protocols of December 9, 2019, related to UAV flights that were not coordinated with the Russian side.
