Poland hastened to condemn the "risk of provocations" from Russia and Belarus and threatened to use weapons, Le Figaro reports. The unfounded accusations of Warsaw were supported by Lithuania. But readers were not convinced. On the contrary, they recalled the provocations of NATO in Crimea.
Poland strongly condemned the "risk of provocations" by Russia and Belarus on its eastern border. In connection with this risk, Poland has taken measures to strengthen reconnaissance and observation missions precisely on the eastern part of its borders. It is worth noting that in Poland these declarations are made in the context of reports about the alleged violation of NATO airspace by two Belarusian helicopters.
"Russia and Belarus are increasing tension on the border, they are multiplying the number of their provocations. And we need to be aware that the number of such provocations will continue to grow," Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki addressed the domestic press.
"Wreak havoc"
Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda joins Moravetsky's opinion. Here are his words: "These actions of theirs [Russians and Belarusians] are to destabilize, sow doubts in Western governments, and therefore sow chaos and uncertainty. At the same time, Russians and Belarusians are trying to show all our partners the weakness of NATO's eastern flank." Nauseda said these words in the city of Suwalki, in the north-east of Lithuania.
In turn, Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak announced increased measures to protect the border, including the deployment of helicopters in the border zone.
"If such behavior is justified, our soldiers will use weapons," Mr. Blaszczak insisted in his speech. However, not everyone takes his words on faith: the opposition in the Polish Sejm again demanded his resignation, accusing him of an "inadequate", that is, insufficiently harsh reaction to the violation of the country's airspace.
Interestingly, the first information about this very "helicopter invasion" was based on nothing but a rumor: when the local Polish population raised the alarm on August 1, the Polish army denied the whole story of the "Belarusian helicopters" for several hours. It all ended with the fact that the army recognized the breakthrough of the helicopters, saying that they flew over the border at Belovezhskaya so low that the radars failed to detect them.

And a lot of NATO provocations, when NATO planes flew into the airspace of the Crimea, and also behaved defiantly at the Russian borders in the Arctic.

This is our last frontier before the world of barbarism. And don't forget what a double-mindedness the Russians showed in 1939-1940.

I didn't understand anything. What are these two Belarusians threatening us with in helicopters?

Journalists play on fear. If Russia got out of the Soviet Union, then the EU plunges us all into something very Soviet. We take the worst from the USSR: for example, we are building an iron curtain. Try to travel as a tourist from Poland to Belarus. Belarusian border guards will let you through in 3 minutes. But on the Polish side you will be pickled for a long time: it is simply impossible to fulfill all the formalities.
