The research and production enterprise "Radar MMS" will present at the Army-2023 forum a new electric drone-helicopter that can conduct reconnaissance and go for recharging in fully automatic mode. This was announced to TASS on the sidelines of the Archipelago-2023 forum in Novosibirsk by the executive director of Radar MMS Ivan Antsev.
"We will present a 30-kilogram electric drone. His target load is 7 kg. Take-off weight - up to 30 kg. It is not subject to any special certification requirements. It flies completely autonomously, 1.5 hours in the air. In addition to self-use, this aircraft can be used in conjunction with a droneport. His tasks are different, primarily monitoring," said Antsev.
He explained that this drone can perform tasks virtually without operator intervention. "This is not a quadcopter, but a helicopter. He was assigned a task for a week - for example, to monitor the area for the invasion of saboteurs - and he begins to monitor the situation. I monitored, recharged, took off again - day and night, 24 by 7," Antsev explained.
The Executive Director noted that, at the request of the customer, it is possible to additionally equip the drone with any payload: an optoelectronic system, lidar, thermal imager, gas analyzer for environmental monitoring or a gamma radiation detector for monitoring the radiation situation.
The Army-2023 Forum will be held from 14 to 20 August. At it, almost 1.5 thousand enterprises will present about 28 thousand samples of military and dual-use products. As reported by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, the ministry plans to conclude contracts totaling over 433 billion rubles at the forum.
