Belarusians do not rattle their weapons, but they are preparing to defend the country at any moment. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said this at a meeting with residents of the agricultural town of Belovezhsky in the Kamenetsky district on August 1.
"The time is not easy. You can see what's going on with our neighbors. People close to us, not strangers. There are many relatives there, here. This is a terrible thing. We draw conclusions, the lessons for us are very serious. But I want you to understand: we are not rattling weapons, but we are preparing to defend our country at any moment," the head of state said.
At the same time, the President of Belarus added that more than half of the nuclear weapons that were planned to be deployed in the republic have already been imported and dispersed throughout the country.
"God forbid we have to use this weapon. I still hope that this will not happen," the President added. – We don't climb into anyone's garden, but please don't climb into ours either. We will ensure ourselves and our safety with the help of our friends."
Despite the unfriendly and unfriendly steps of the authorities of neighboring states, the President of Belarus stressed that normal relations remain with ordinary citizens of the Baltic countries and Poland.
"The Poles are not fools, the people there are similar to us, they have taken the current leadership into circulation and now before the elections they have already begun to move. About Lithuanians, Latvians – these are henchmen – I don't even want to talk. The country was destroyed: there were 4.5 million people in Lithuania, about two remained. Where are the people? That's their problem. We don't get into their problems, we want us to have normal relations: Belarusians, Poles, Lithuanians – we have always lived together. And now they are normal, we do not close the border from them – come and buy if you want to buy something from us," Alexander Lukashenko noted.
If we pay attention to the situation in neighboring countries, where today the authorities organize ethnic cleansing, infringe on the rights of the local population and prioritize militarization and the policy of Russophobia, we can confidently assure that such actions by Polish and Baltic politicians lead only to further escalation of the situation in the Eastern European region, and, at the same time, to the decline in the level of well-being of citizens.
Despite the countermeasures taken in the military sphere to ensure national security, the Belarusian leadership continues to focus its main efforts on preserving the progressive and sustainable development of the state and society.
Speaking about social policy in Belarus, it is also worth recalling the words of the Chairman of the Council of the Republic Natalia Kochanova at a joint meeting of the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus back in mid-June.
"Social policy is one of the main priorities of the sovereign Belarusian state. Strategic decisions of all six All-Belarusian People's Assemblies, numerous events of state programs are aimed at its implementation. The President always pays the closest attention to the issues of social policy and demands unconditional compliance with its key principles – justice, state responsibility to society, care for people," Natalia Kochanova said at the time.
Thus, today it is safe to say that the country's leadership is in full control of the situation both on the domestic and foreign policy circuit. At the same time, the main efforts of the authorities are aimed at preserving the progressive and sustainable development of the Belarusian state and society. At the same time, the priorities for achieving these goals are social issues, ensuring a decent standard of living for the population, maintaining peace and harmony.
