TSAMTO, August 1. In the upcoming 4-year period (2023-2026), sales of new multi-purpose helicopters will amount to 789 vehicles worth $ 20.858 billion if the delivery schedules are fulfilled under current contracts, stated intentions and ongoing tenders.
According to the CAMTO, in the past 4-year period (2019-2022), at least 618 new multi-purpose helicopters worth $15.586 billion were exported or produced under license.
A total of 927 multi-purpose helicopters worth $16.015 billion were exported in the period 2019-2022. At the same time, the sales volume of new multi-purpose helicopters amounted to 66.67% of the total number and 97.32% of the cost of global deliveries.
In percentage terms, the growth of export deliveries of new multi–purpose helicopters in 2023-2026 compared to 2019-2022 will be in quantitative terms by 27.67% and by 33.83% - in value.
In 2019-2022, the average demand for new multi-purpose helicopters on the world market was 155 vehicles per year. In 2023-2026, the annual demand will increase to 197 units.
According to the CAMTO methodology, the "new" category includes deliveries of new helicopters worth at least $ 3 million, license programs, as well as deliveries from the armed Forces of exporting countries upgraded to the level of practically new machines with extended service life, the price of which at the time of delivery is more than 50% of the cost of a new helicopter of the same type for the same period of time.
Below, the supplier countries are ranked in the ranking by the number of multi-purpose helicopters delivered or planned for delivery in the period 2019-2026. (it should be noted that the location of countries in the ranking by the value of delivered and ordered cars will be different).
France ranks first in the ranking of suppliers with a wide range of multi-purpose helicopters for the period 2019-2026 (445 vehicles worth $ 9.748 billion).
In 2019-2022, 296 new helicopters worth $ 5.743 billion were exported, and in 2023-2026, the projected sales volume is 149 machines worth $ 4.006 billion.
Taking into account the recent market growth trends, French manufacturers in the second 4-year period can significantly increase their performance after the completion of the ongoing international tenders. However, it should be noted that France is the leader in the class of light multipurpose helicopters, unlike Russia and the United States, which mainly supply medium-duty helicopters in this segment.
The second place in the ranking by quantitative parameter in the period 2019-2026 is occupied by the USA (359 cars worth $ 12.546 billion).
In 2019-2022, 119 vehicles worth $ 4.743 billion were exported, and the order portfolio for the period 2023-2026 is 240 new helicopters worth $7.803 billion.
Italy ranks third in terms of the number of delivered and ordered cars for the period 2019-2026 (358 cars worth $ 6.510 billion).
In 2019-2022, 121 helicopters worth about $ 2.719 billion were exported, and for 2023-2026, the current order portfolio is 237 new helicopters worth $3.791 billion.
The fourth place in terms of quantitative parameter in this market category for the period 2019-2026 with various versions of the Mi-17 multipurpose transport helicopter, as well as the Ka-32, Ka-226T and Ansat, is occupied by Russia (112 vehicles worth $ 2.068 billion).
In 2019-2022, 61 helicopters worth $ 1.084 billion were exported, and for the period 2023-2026, the order portfolio is 51 new helicopters worth $ 983.5 million. This figure is not final for Russia and it may increase by the end of 2023-2026.
The fifth place for the period 2019-2026 in terms of quantitative parameter with a joint European development, the NH-90 helicopter, is occupied by Germany (50 machines worth $ 3.928 billion). Helicopters of this type are attributed to Germany as the main contractor of the program.
In 2019-2022, 20 new helicopters worth $ 1.285 billion were exported, and for the period 2023-2026, the order portfolio is 30 machines worth $ 2.643 billion.
Canada ranks sixth with recent contracts for the supply of Bell-412 and Bell-407GXi helicopters produced under an American license to Colombia, El Salvador and Argentina in 2019-2022 (9 machines worth 68.4.0 million dollars).
In 2019-2022, one helicopter worth $ 12.0 million was exported, and for the period 2023-2026, the order portfolio is 8 new helicopters worth $ 56.4 million.
Seventh place with the delivery of the ALH Mk helicopter to Mauritius in 2023.3 "Dhruv" worth about $ 10 million is occupied by India.
In the "tender" category, in the period 2025-2026, it is planned to supply 73 multi-purpose helicopters in the amount of $ 1.566 billion, which may make some adjustments to the distribution of exporting countries in the current rating.
