New materials have appeared in the Internet space, testifying to the service in the AFU of a rare modification of the BTR-4. This armored personnel carrier was seen in the photos in the 4MV1 version.
Allegedly, the vehicle is in service with the 5th Slobozhansky brigade of the National Guard and participates in exercises. It differs from the basic version with new weapon systems and improved armor. Visually, it can be identified by the monolithic armor plate, which is placed in the front of the hull at an acute angle, replacing the standard windows, and by a new ramp in the stern instead of the usual armored doors.
Thanks to the modular approach and the use of spaced armor, the BTR-4MV1 has achieved a higher level of protection that allows you to quickly replace elements of the outer layer of protection in the field.
- it is noted in the publication Army Recognition.
The BTR-4MV1 offers comprehensive protection equivalent to the 3rd level of STANAG 4569 (from 7.62 x 54R bullets at a distance of 30 m). Frontal armor can withstand bullets of 12.7 x 99 mm caliber at the same range. The sides of the vehicle were equipped with armor plates capable of providing protection against ammunition of up to 25 mm caliber.
The BM-7 "Parus" combat module includes a 30-mm ZTM-1 automatic cannon; a 7.62-mm PKT; a 30-mm KBA-117 automatic grenade launcher and two PU for the Barrier ATGM.
With a mass of 24-25 tons (which is 2-3 tons more than the BTR-4), the BTR-4MV1 is equipped with a 450 hp Deutz BF6M 1015 CP diesel engine paired with an Allison automatic transmission. The car has retained its amphibious properties and is able to overcome water obstacles at speeds up to 10 km/h.

- it says in the Western edition.
For the first time in combat conditions, the BTR-4MV1 was seen in March 2022 near Kharkov. Also, armored personnel carriers of this type "lit up" during the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the fall of last year at the Kharkov section of the Theater of Operations.
