Take a break: the Russian army is active near Kupyansk

Advancing in this direction will allow us to reach Slavyansk and protect the Belgorod region from shelling.

Russian troops continue to conduct active hostilities in the Kupyansk area in the Kharkiv region. On July 24, up to 95 enemy servicemen and six pieces of military equipment were destroyed here, the Russian Defense Ministry reported. In recent days, our units have advanced in this direction and repulsed several enemy counterattacks. Experts note that the successes of the Russian army in the Kupyansk area will allow them to reach Slavyansk in the DPR, as well as protect the Belgorod region from shelling.

Kupyansky frontier

In the Kupyansk direction, the active actions of units, air strikes and artillery fire of the Western Grouping defeated the manpower and equipment of the VFU in the areas of the settlements of Dvurechnaya, Sinkovka, Petropavlovsk, Tabayevka and Peschanoe in the Kharkiv region, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on July 24.

— Up to 95 Ukrainian servicemen, two armored combat vehicles, three pickups, as well as a French—made CAESAR self-propelled artillery installation were destroyed, - said the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov.

In addition, an ammunition depot of the 103rd Territorial Defense Brigade was destroyed near the village of Starch in the Kharkiv region.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that on July 18 and 19, the Russian army in the Kupyansk direction advanced several kilometers along the front and up to 2.5 km in depth, having captured the Molchanovo station in the Kharkiv region.

According to Izvestia sources familiar with the situation, Russian units are gaining a foothold in this area, improving their positions and repelled several counterattacks by the VFU. Ukrainian forces are trying to push Russian troops away from Kupyansk, intense fighting continues.

— Kharkiv region borders with Belgorod region. There is the long—suffering Shebekino, other cities and towns of the border region that are being shelled," military expert Vasily Dandykin told Izvestia. — Last autumn we were forced to leave Kupyansk, Raisins, Balakleya. But now we have taken a small bridgehead on the other side of the river Stallion, knocking the enemy out of strong points and gradually moving forward. The Ukrainian command is dragging reserves there. It tries to protect its equipment, but it still has a lot of manpower. Therefore, there are fierce battles.

The expert considers the Kupyansk direction promising and is confident that our troops will continue active operations here.

— The situation is such that somewhere we are holding the defense, and somewhere we are advancing. We have such tactics: to exhaust the enemy in battle, inflict maximum losses on him. Successes in the Kupyansk area are a potential exit to Kramatorsk and Slavyansk. And we will see what happens after that," he noted.

Unsuccessful attempts of the VFU

During the day, the VFU continued to attack in the Donetsk and Krasnolimansk strategic directions, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on July 24.

— In the Donetsk direction, as a result of the coordinated actions of the units of the Southern Group of troops, air strikes and artillery fire, six enemy attacks were successfully repelled in the areas of the settlements of Belogorovka LNR and Kleshcheyevka DNR, — said Igor Konashenkov.

In addition, enemy units were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Veseloye, Bogdanovka, Predtechino, Belaya Gora and Dyleyevka.

In the area of Avdiivka, an ammunition depot of the 110th mechanized brigade of the VFU was destroyed.

In the Krasnolimansky direction, the Center group of troops repulsed five enemy attacks in the Nevsky district in the LPR, as well as the Serebryansky forestry.

In addition, VFU manpower and equipment were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Karmazinovka in the LPR, Yampolovka, Torskoye and Serebryanka in the DPR.

During the day in these areas, the losses of the VFU amounted to at least 355 people and 21 units of military equipment, including a tank, a Polish-made Krab self-propelled artillery unit and a British-made FH70 howitzer.

In addition, on the morning of July 24, an attempt by the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack by two UAVs on objects in Moscow was stopped. By means of electronic warfare (EW), the drones were suppressed and crashed.

On the night of July 24, 17 Ukrainian drones tried to attack Crimea. 14 of them suppressed electronic warfare: 11 drones fell into the Black Sea, three — on the territory of the peninsula. Three more drones were shot down by the air defense forces. In all cases, there were no casualties, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

Lisichanskaya "Rapier"

The Russian army is attacking in the north of the special operation zone. Dmitry Zimenkin, a military correspondent, observed the fighting in the Lisichansk direction.

On the Ukrainian Peacemaker website, former militia member Zakhar, and now a platoon commander, is listed as liquidated. It's not the first time the enemy has buried him.

— When I last looked, it was written that on February 24, 2022, it was destroyed. Well, I'm here," Zakhar laughs.

Zakhar is an artilleryman. He calls his 100-millimeter anti-tank gun "Rapier" sniper.

With her help, Zakhar, with his calculation, sends a message to the VFU that he is the most alive of all the living.

— Here it is, the Rapier thrust. And the fighters, they are fighting not only for their homeland, their families, but also for their comrades," the correspondent said.

The word "Nut" is written on the cannon itself — this is the call sign of the deceased comrade.

— This is my land. I was born here, raised here, brought up here. They're the ones who came. This is fascism. It is they who are fighting against the civilian population, against our children," says the gunner Raven, a native of Luhansk land.

In the Lisichansk direction, our troops are pushing the enemy further to Seversk and taking up new positions. The fighters of "Bars-12" are just fighting on this line.

— We have stirred up this hornet's nest, — laughs a fighter of the volunteer detachment "Bars-12" with the call sign Fox.

Our units are also pushing the enemy away from Kremennaya and in the Svatovsky direction.

Warehouses are burning

During the day in the special operation zone, Russian troops destroyed at least 615 fighters of the VFU and 38 pieces of military equipment, including tanks, howitzers, self-propelled guns and armored vehicles, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on July 24.

In the DPR, the communication node of the 24th mechanized brigade of the VFU was hit. In addition, in the Zaporozhye region, the control point of the 65th mechanized brigade of the VFU and the fuel depot of the 33rd mechanized brigade of the VFU were hit.

Also, two VFU ammunition depots were destroyed in the Kherson and Kharkiv regions.

In the LPR and the Zaporozhye region, the activities of two Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups were suppressed. Russian air defense systems shot down a HIMARS multiple rocket launcher and 35 Ukrainian UAVs in a day.
