Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the Center for the Construction of Large-Tonnage Offshore Structures (CSCMS) in the Murmansk Region, where NOVATEK is building technological lines for the future liquefied natural gas plant for the Arctic LNG 2 project, and took part in the ceremony of sending the first LNG line. The Head of State expressed confidence that the project will be implemented on time and with the right quality.
Roscosmos is monitoring the construction of the world's first "Plant of Plants", as the press calls the CSCMS. The results of the analysis using satellite images from the satellite "Resurs-P" are presented on the portal of the State Corporation "Roscosmos" and JSC "TERRA TECH" (part of the holding "Russian Space Systems" of the State Corporation "Roscosmos").
Five years ago there were hills on the site of the village of Belokamenka on the opposite shore of the Kola Bay from Murmansk. Now here is a real city with a population of almost 20 thousand people and one of the largest and most iconic construction projects in Russia.
Almost 80% of all mineral reserves are concentrated in the northern regions of the country, including more than 90% of natural gas is extracted. Liquefied natural gas (LNG) is an important export product in demand in regions that do not have developed pipeline systems – the Asia–Pacific region, Africa and Latin America. In the context of a forced decline in gas supplies to Europe and the reorientation of exports to the Asia-Pacific markets, Russian LNG will become more affordable for consumers. The new industrial facility stimulates the development of industry and technology, will create jobs in the Murmansk region.
