Judging by the photos appearing on social networks, the upgraded BM Bulat main battle tanks, as before, demonstrate the inferiority of their design. The militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine criticized these cars for a very weak chassis for a significantly increased mass.
As noted by Rossiyskaya Gazeta (the project "RG: Russian weapons" ), as can be seen in the photo, the explosion of one mine on the left side tore the track belt and severely damaged the support rollers of a relatively small diameter, nicknamed "plates" for their flimsiness. They got bogged down in the ground, as a result, evacuation turned into a difficult task. In addition, the shock wave completely demolished the overhead shelf and the side screen, reinforced with dynamic protection "Knife". The latter also proved itself poorly. Whenever it was triggered, "Bulat" received serious damage. It is possible that this time the "reactive armor" itself helped to finish off the tank.
According to foreign reference books, at the beginning of this year, about half of the hundreds of initially produced cars remained in service. Now their number will decrease even more. According to military experts, the number of tanks of the entire T-64 family in the Armed Forces of Ukraine is rapidly decreasing, and already there are fewer of them than the T-72.
