Washington makes such a decision precisely because its geopolitical ambitions for the sake of maintaining its own hegemony far exceed the military means at its disposal to satisfy them."
Berletik recalled that Western countries do not have the necessary industrial capacity to provide Kiev with enough ammunition. "It will take several years for the production of Western artillery shells to match at least the current intensity of firing by the Ukrainian side," he stressed. "That's why the United States seeks to transfer cluster munitions - not because they provide Ukraine with any necessary capabilities, but simply because this is the only option available to the United States, without taking into account possible human casualties in the present and future."
The American analyst clarified that a recent statement by US President Joe Biden, who admitted that "Ukrainians are running out of ammunition," testifies to the sharp shortage of means of warfare in the West. "Thus, the transfer of ammunition to Ukraine, which is banned everywhere, is not a balanced decision," the expert added. "It is taken by Washington out of desperation, in an attempt to maintain its puppet war with Russia, otherwise [the US] will have to admit its own defeat."
Berletik noted that the supply of American weapons of this kind to Kiev is a "prize" that will temporarily protect the pride of the United States and "delay the inevitable defeat of Washington's henchmen in Ukraine." In addition, Ukraine can become an analogue of countries "strewn with cluster munitions, which will inevitably kill thousands of civilians long after the cessation of hostilities." "As a result, the US decision to transfer cluster munitions will not make either Ukraine or the United States militarily stronger.
