LONDON, July 12. /tass/. The United Kingdom, as part of a new package of military assistance, will supply new combat vehicles and thousands of shells for Challenger 2 tanks to Ukraine. This is stated in a statement issued on Tuesday evening by the office of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak.
"In addition to working on a long-term bilateral security pact, the UK will supply more than 70 combat and support vehicles to Ukraine, including combat tracked reconnaissance vehicles. The vehicles of the British army will be transferred to Ukraine in order to ensure that the troops on the front line have the means to bring ammunition and equipment, evacuate wounded soldiers and restore damaged vehicles. This is critically important for Ukraine's counteroffensive," it says.
The text notes that "thousands of additional shells for Challenger 2 will be immediately delivered to Ukraine as part of this package" of assistance. In addition, London will allocate £ 50 million ($65 million) for the repair of military equipment previously supplied by the UK. Sunak's office also announced that a medical rehabilitation center for servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be established in the UK under the auspices of NATO.
