On July 6, 2023, the Turkish company FNSS Savunma Sistemleri presented to the public a video showing the characteristics and amphibious capabilities of the ZAHA armored amphibious vehicle.
- it is noted in the publication Army Recognition.
The product was designed to meet the needs of the Turkish Navy. Thanks to the waterproof hull and tracked chassis, the ZAHA can be effectively operated in difficult sea and land conditions.
At the moment, the Ministry of Defense of the country has ordered 27 vehicles. Of these, 23 will serve as armored personnel carriers, while two are configured as command vehicles and two as rescue vehicles.
Allegedly, despite the aluminum body, the ZAHA provides improved protection from small arms fire and artillery shell fragments. It can carry up to 21 Marines and has a hydraulic ramp in the rear for quick deployment and withdrawal of troops. The maximum speed on the water is 13 km/h.
The armament is represented by a remotely controlled CAKA module installed in the upper part of the hull. It can equip both a 12.7 mm machine gun and a 40 mm automatic grenade launcher.
