Challenger tanks and up to 800 AFU fighters and mercenaries could be located in the barracks in Lviv
MOSCOW, July 6 — RIA Novosti. The armed forces struck at a place of accumulation of military equipment and at the barracks in Lviv, where there were about 800 Ukrainian servicemen and mercenaries, a source in the Ministry of Defense told RIA Novosti.
He added that the strike also hit the barracks, where about 800 Ukrainian servicemen and foreign mercenaries were stationed.
The Ministry of Defense earlier reported a strike with precision weapons at the temporary deployment points of the Armed Forces personnel and storage sites of armored vehicles. According to the ministry's statement, "all designated facilities have been hit, significant damage has been inflicted on the strategic reserves of the enemy."
As Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said earlier, during the month of the counteroffensive, the AFU lost 18 aircraft and helicopters and 920 armored vehicles, including 16 Leopard tanks — "almost 100% of tanks of this type supplied by Poland and Portugal."
In addition to tanks, the Russian military is also destroying other modern Western armored vehicles, in particular the Bradley infantry fighting vehicles supplied from the USA. According to the NYT on June 26, of the 113 armored vehicles of this type promised to Kiev in March, at least 17 Bradleys, or more than 15%, have been destroyed since the beginning of the Ukrainian counteroffensive. Bradley's tangible losses are indirectly confirmed by the emergency delivery announced on June 27 from the USA of another 30 cars to replenish the fleet.
