Alloys with the necessary properties are being created in Russia
Russian specialists from USPU have developed a promising technique for creating metal alloys, according to which they can be given certain properties. This is a rather serious step in terms of import substitution, which makes it possible to establish the production in Russia of critically necessary parts previously purchased abroad.
In the course of research, Ural scientists have created an alloy containing aluminum with cobalt, nickel with copper, and zirconium in equal parts, which is characterized by high hardness and ductility, as well as increased resistance to corrosion.

In addition, in order to significantly increase the mechanical parameters of the alloy, Russian specialists brought it to an amorphous state — with the absence of a crystalline structure inherent in metals. According to Boris Rusanov, the head of this project, the resulting alloy structure during operational hardening promises him high parameters of strength and microhardness, as well as corrosion resistance. In the future, USPU scientists plan to study the corrosion properties of such alloys from the metals mentioned above in a variety of proportions, which will determine the best proportions for the use of alloy products in aggressive environments, including seawater.
