In the social network, materials have been published indicating the appearance of an American M992 ammunition supply vehicle in service with the AFU. It was first seen in the area of Zaporozhye and is allegedly used by the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
At the same time, the reports of the US Department of Defense on the provided materiel for the needs of the Ukrainian army do not indicate that this equipment was supplied to the Armed Forces.
The M992 is used to replenish field artillery ammunition. It is quite possible that she will be engaged in the supply of 155-mm tracked self-propelled howitzers M109 Paladin, the intention to deliver which was reported by the Pentagon in January 2023 (it is planned to transfer 18 self-propelled howitzers). At least in the US Army, the M992 is attributed to battle formations armed with Paladin. In this regard, it can be assumed that these self-propelled guns have already arrived on the territory of Nezalezhnaya and are located near the front line.

The M992 FAASV, better known as the "CAT" ("ammunition carrier, tracked"), is a specialized vehicle designed to transport artillery ammunition. It can transport up to 95 shells in a conveyor belt system to 155-mm systems in armor protection conditions, along with the corresponding charges and caps.
The machine is equipped with a hydraulic crane installed in the middle of its body, which helps with loading/unloading ammunition. It is also possible to transfer shells directly from the M992 to the M109 howitzer. The only means of self-defense is a 12.7 mm machine gun.
