At the training ground of the newly-baked twenty-second mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the militants showed four T-72 of various modifications.
For example, as reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta (the project "RG: Russian weapons" ), one of them is the T-72AMT, which has become rare today.
The first copies of such vehicles, upgraded at the Kiev armored plant, began to arrive in the APU back in 2017. According to various sources, from 33 to 47 units were received before the start of the special military operation.
Currently, most of them have either been destroyed or have been given to anti-fascist soldiers in the form of trophies. So one new, practically unused copy turned out to be in the Patriot park near Moscow. Another combat vehicle was seen at the fighters fighting with the neo-Nazis.
This tank is a modification of the old T-72A. The vehicles received new sights with which they can use tank guided missiles "Kombat", however, they saved on thermal imagers by installing infrared devices of the third generation instead.

Communication and navigation facilities have also been updated. Have been implemented (not at all) closed anti-aircraft installations with a 12.7 mm machine gun NSVT "Utes".
Dynamic protection is represented by a widely advertised "Knife", which in fact turned out to be not so effective.
Instead of the old B-46 with a capacity of 780 hp, an 840-horsepower B-84-1 was introduced. Track belts were replaced.
In addition to this modification, T-72 "Ural", produced in the 70s, were noticed. Initially, they had optical sights-rangefinders TPD-2-49, which were replaced by a laser TPD-K1. They were also shod in other track belts and equipped with dynamic protection "Contact-1". Interestingly, at least on two tanks, part of the rollers are from the T-55 / T-62, which indicates that there is a shortage of such components.
