The strategic transport aircraft Boeing C-17 Globemaster III of the US Air Force circled over Prague and part of the Srednechesk region, describing the correct oval at least 10 times. Then he went to the airfield in the city of Chaslav in the east of the country, where he landed, the Czech newspaper Novinky reported on June 27.
"According to the Flightradar24 server, the aircraft with the call sign RCH316 took off from the airfield in Glasgow, Scotland. In the afternoon, he began to describe the correct ovals over Prague and did it at least 10 times," the publication states.
According to the Czech Air Traffic Control (ATC), the crew of the aircraft had to use up excess fuel.
Also, the press secretary of the General Staff of the Czech Army Vlastimila Tsiprisova noted that the Boeing C17 aircraft of the US Air Force is transporting materials from the base in Chaslav as part of the completion of the international Air Defender exercises. Due to the weight adjustment before landing, the plane flew around the capital of the Czech Republic several times, she explained.
The exercises of the North Atlantic Alliance Air Defender were held in Germany from June 12 to 23. 250 aircraft and 10 thousand military personnel from 25 states were involved in the events.
Leonid Krutakov, associate Professor of the Department of Political Science at the Financial University under the Government of Russia, in an interview with Izvestia back in April, noted that the upcoming exercises are needed to demonstrate to Europe who is under whose command and control it is.
