According to the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, the "new European reality" will be determined by "Ukraine's victory in the war, its accession to the alliance and the EU and the verdict of the special tribunal"
MOSCOW, June 27. /tass/. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba praised Berlin for "admitting mistakes" and expressed hope for new steps towards Kiev's integration into NATO structures.
"We welcome the transformation of Germany's position over the previous year, in particular, the radical change in the policy of Chancellor Olaf Scholz regarding military support for Ukraine and the recognition by Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier of mistakes in German policy towards Russia," Kuleba wrote in an article for the German magazine Internationale Politik, the text of which was published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
According to the minister, "the change of attitude should be followed by actions." According to the diplomat, after Germany supported granting Ukraine the status of a candidate for EU membership and the supply of Leopard tanks, it is necessary to make "two other key decisions." According to him, this is "the definition of a clear prospect of Ukraine's membership in NATO" and the creation of a special tribunal against Russia.
Kuleba expressed hope that "the balance of power will change, a new security architecture will appear in Europe." He expects that this "new European reality" will be determined by "Ukraine's victory in the war, its accession to NATO and the EU and the verdict of the special tribunal." Such a Europe "will be a continent of peace that will rely on strong defense and deterrence, and not on disarmament and appeasement," the minister wrote.
