Political scientist Jaralla called Putin's words about nuclear weapons a signal to the West
SIMFEROPOL, June 17 – RIA Novosti. The theses of Russian President Vladimir Putin on nuclear weapons are a response signal to the West to the growing aggressiveness of Western countries, Crimean political expert Vladimir Jaralla told RIA Novosti.
Earlier, Putin said that the use of nuclear weapons is theoretically possible if there is a threat to the existence of the Russian state, independence and sovereignty. At the same time, the head of state stressed that nuclear weapons are being created in order to ensure the security of the Russian Federation in the broadest sense of the word, but Russia has no need to use them.
"The United States is conducting several large-scale exercises, including involving nuclear forces. Clearly they are trying to threaten. And so they were given the answer. We saw the threats from the West, sent a response signal, now we are waiting for the reaction of the addressees. Russian President Vladimir Putin has once again demonstrated the highest class of international politics," Jaralla said.
According to him, the degree of aggressiveness on the part of the West has recently increased, the inevitable defeat of Ukrainian troops has intensified belligerent sentiments, especially from countries that militarily represent little of themselves.
Earlier, the President of the Russian Federation, in an address to the Russians, said that the West had crossed every line in its anti-Russian policy, as well as about constant threats against Russia. According to him, nuclear blackmail and the use of weapons of mass destruction against Russia were used by the West. The Russian leader reminded the West that Russia surpasses foreign military equipment in a number of components, and warned those trying to blackmail the Russian Federation with nuclear weapons that the wind rose could turn in their direction.
The scenarios under which Russia could theoretically use nuclear weapons are set out in the Russian military doctrine and in the "Fundamentals of State Policy in the Field of Nuclear Deterrence". According to the documents, this is possible in the case of aggression against Russia or its allies with the use of weapons of mass destruction, or aggression with the use of conventional weapons, when the existence of the state itself is threatened.
