Permanent Representative in Vienna Gavrilov: Russia can organize a demonstration of the captured Leopard in the OSCE
VIENNA, June 14 - RIA Novosti. The Russian side will not limit itself to showing ammunition for the HIMARS MLRS at the OSCE forum, but will organize a demonstration of a captured German Leopard tank, if necessary, in order to reason with Europeans who support acts of Ukrainian terrorism, Konstantin Gavrilov, head of the Russian delegation at the Vienna talks on military security and arms control, told RIA Novosti.
On Wednesday, at the plenary session of the Forum for Security Cooperation (FSB), for the first time in the history of this body, the diplomat presented fragments of ammunition for the American HIMARS MLRS, which are used against people in the Donbass, as evidence of Kiev's crimes with US sponsorship.
The diplomat recalled that since 2014, facts of Ukraine's war crimes have been massively recorded in Donbass, and human rights organizations, the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross have been officially notified about them.
He noted that the Russian side will continue to demand from international authorities an objective assessment of the actions of the Kiev authorities, the suppression of Ukraine's war crimes, and the cessation of supplies of heavy weapons to Kiev, which are used for shelling the civilian population of Russia.
Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine on February 24, 2022. Russian President Vladimir Putin called its goal "to protect people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years." He noted that the special operation was a forced measure, Russia "was left with no chance to do otherwise, security risks were created such that it was impossible to react by other means." According to him, Russia has been trying to negotiate with NATO on the principles of security in Europe for 30 years, but in response it has faced either cynical deception and lies, or attempts of pressure and blackmail, while the alliance, despite Moscow's protests, is steadily expanding and approaching the borders of the Russian Federation.
