Trucks and E-Neva will be produced at the site
The former Toyota plant in St. Petersburg, which already belongs to FSUE NAMI, will be sold to the Almaz-Antey defense industrial concern, as reported to Interfax by the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
On behalf of the Deputy Prime Minister and the head of the Ministry Denis Manturov, a separate draft government decree was developed, implying the sale of 100% of the share of FSUE NAMI in LLC Shushary-Avto (the legal entity that owns the assets of the site) to the Almaz-Antey concern. On Wednesday, the project appeared on the federal portal of draft regulatory legal acts.
Production at the Toyota plant in Shushary was suspended at the beginning of March last year. In September, Toyota confirmed its closure. At the end of March, the site became the property of the state, FSUE NAMI became its owner.
Almaz-Antey plans to launch the production of trucks and the E-Neva electric crossover at the site of the St. Petersburg automobile plant.
More than a month ago, it was reported that the Obukhov Plant, part of the Almaz-Antey defense concern, which produces air defense systems, including the S-500 long- and medium-range anti-aircraft missile system (SAM), has already become the site's management company.
