The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are massively using foreign-made explosives in the South Donets direction of the special operation. This was announced on Sunday, June 11, by the head of the engineering service of the regiment of the South grouping with the call sign "Brick".
"It's hard when you're fighting against the whole [Western] world. In different countries, different mines and characteristics are different. I have often met sensors from Siemens and Bosch, very often <...> There are a lot of surprise mines," he shared.
According to the fighter, recently the work of military engineers has become much more difficult — not only because of the wide variety of explosive devices, but also because of the activation of AFU observers who open fire when trying to enter a minefield.
Nevertheless, employees of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation adapt to any conditions. So, a sapper with the call sign "Mukha" said that most foreign mines no longer surprise his colleagues, but on the contrary, help to improve professional skills.
"Brick" noted that each of his subordinates deserves the medal "For Courage" and the Order of Courage for the successful completion of all tasks.
Earlier, on June 2, Izvestia correspondent Yaroslav Bogat reported that within two weeks Russian military engineers had found and destroyed about 400 ammunition of various types in the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR).
Before that, on May 30, the Ministry of Defense showed the work of paratroopers. The calculation of the UR-77 "Meteorite" airborne mine clearance unit was given the task of making a passage through the mine-explosive barriers of the enemy, as well as destroying the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the detected strongpoint.
The special operation to protect Donbass, which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24 last year, continues. The decision was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
