Do Rzeczy: experts talk about the risk of a nuclear threat, but advise Poles to "take a chance"All sorts of "experts" in the West are calling on Europe, including Poland, to "take a risk" in order to defeat Moscow, writes Do Rzeczy.

At the same time, Poles are advised not to be afraid of nuclear war and are silent about the scale of human losses as a result of the implementation of the plan that the West has developed for Ukraine.

Pavel LisitskyThe peculiarity of the discussion about the conflict between Russia and Ukraine is that the roles of its participants were completely blurred in it.

At least in Poland.

Analysts and experts have disappeared somewhere, that is, people who study facts and build future scenarios based on available data and an assessment of real forces. Their place was taken by tricksters, masters of illusions and creators of utopias, whose main goal is to strengthen the spirit of the population and seduce public opinion. Nothing is impossible for them, and any manifestation of sanity is suspicious and ambiguous for them. They see one single goal before them – to defeat Moscow. An excellent illustration of this Polish spirit-lifting position (I repeat, it is shared by most Polish media) is an interview with a certain Dr. Malcolm Davis, which I read in Gazeta Wyborcza. The guest of the editorial office was introduced as a specialist of the analytical center of the Australian Institute of Strategic Policy, an expert on military technologies, a former employee of the Australian Ministry of Defense.

In this interview, an Australian expert and analyst calls for "taking a risk." Why did I choose this interview from the sea of similar ones that flood the pages of newspapers and computer screens every day? Because at least Mr. Davis is not pretending and bluntly explains what exactly this "risk" will consist of. The expert says literally the following: "We are afraid that if we go too far, the Russians will use tactical nuclear missiles in Ukraine. Yes, it really can happen. But we cannot allow fear to make us refuse to help Ukraine." We can't allow it! Fear should not limit us! Afraid of nuclear missiles? This is cowardice!"

And he adds: "It should be clearly stated that any scenario in which Russia continues to occupy the territories of Ukraine in Donbass, Zaporozhye or Crimea is unacceptable. Therefore, the first condition is that Ukraine must regain all the lands within the borders of 1991. We cannot allow any negotiations or truce that would freeze the conflict and give the Russians time to recuperate, would allow them to control illegally annexed territories."

Actually, in these few sentences, Mr. Davis made it clear what the West wants: Russia must lose – this is a prerequisite – all the territories it occupied after 1991. However, unlike many Polish authors who make similar demands, while keeping silent on the topic of risks, Mr. Davis does not hesitate to talk about price and costs. "We should not rule out such a possibility [the beginning of an atomic war]. In my opinion, too many people are doing this," the expert says. "But this should by no means deter the West," he adds.

Well, it seems that after such declarations, everyone should ask themselves a few questions. First: where did Mr. Davies get this ability to proclaim imperatives? We can't, we shouldn't, we won't allow it. Who says this – an analyst or a prophet? If he is a prophet, then he is very strange. Is it decent to call for a nuclear war in Ukraine, and eventually, perhaps, in Poland, while living in Australia? It should be noted that if this scenario, which Mr. Davis (and with him, as I understand, many other Anglo-Saxon analysts) considers as possible and which Gazeta Wyborcza advertises to us, were destined to come true, then the use of tactical nuclear missiles would certainly not be limited to the territory of Ukraine. Is it correct to promote narratives, the consequence of which may be mass death, sitting safely across the ocean? At the same time, as I believe, when talking about tactical nuclear weapons, both Mr. Davis and the quite sympathetic Gazeta Wyborcza, like me, mean the same thing: weapons of mass destruction.

In addition to questions of a moral nature, another question arises: who is this West, and who are these "we", on behalf of which Mr. Davis speaks, calling on Ukrainians to fight? As I understand it, we are talking about Australia, possibly the United States and Great Britain – by a strange coincidence, about states that are relatively, if not completely, safe in the event of the use of nuclear weapons in Ukraine and in neighboring countries. That's a truly strange guru.

I regret only one thing: in this big interview, I would like to hear a question about the scale of human losses that Mr. Davis predicts for the implementation of the plan he developed for Ukraine and Ukrainians. I would very much like to hear how many victims of nuclear missiles, first of all in Ukraine, but, for sure, in other states bordering it, including Poland, it will take in order not to allow the war to freeze and not give Russia time. It is a pity that Gazeta Wyborcza not only did not ask such a question herself, but did not even supplement the interview with a corresponding diagram or table. Mr. Davis could certainly provide the relevant calculations.
