According to the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, on May 24, 2023, a meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation was held in the building of the National Defense Management Center of the Russian Federation, which was attended by the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Army General Sergei Shoigu.
(c) The Ministry of Defense of the Russian FederationAt the beginning of his speech, the head of the military department said a few words about another terrorist action of the Kiev regime against civilians.
As you know, on May 22 of this year, a unit of the Ukrainian nationalist formation invaded the territory of the Russian Federation in the area of the Kozinka international checkpoint in the Belgorod region.
During the counter-terrorist operation, the nationalist formations were blocked and defeated by air strikes, artillery fire and active actions of the units covering the State Border of the Western Military District.
The remnants of the nationalists were thrown back to the territory of Ukraine, where they continued to be defeated until they were completely eliminated.
More than 70 Ukrainian terrorists were destroyed, as well as automobile and armored vehicles. We will continue to react promptly and extremely harshly to such actions of Ukrainian militants in the future.
Then the Minister moved on to the agenda of the meeting. First, he suggested considering measures to implement social guarantees for servicemen participating in a special military operation and their family members.
To date, 63 regulatory legal acts have been adopted, which have significantly expanded the rights of this category of citizens.
The status of a combat veteran has been established, additional monetary payments have been assigned, including for special differences in the performance of assigned tasks.
One-time assistance in the amount of three and five million rubles, respectively, is provided to the wounded servicemen and the families of the victims, loans are repaid or credit holidays are provided.
The command of military units and local self-government bodies pay special attention to the families of military personnel. Yunarmeytsy, veterans' organizations, women's councils are also actively involved in providing them with targeted assistance.
Additional assistance is provided by charitable foundations and public organizations.
In accordance with the decision of the President of the Russian Federation, a State fund has been established to support participants in the special military operation Defender of the Fatherland.
"Such systematic work will continue," Sergei Shoigu said. "It is important for us that military personnel performing tasks in the zone of a special military operation know that their relatives and friends are under the protection of the state."
Then he suggested discussing how the training of junior specialists in the Armed Forces is being improved. Since the beginning of the special military operation, more than one hundred and twenty thousand servicemen have been trained.
More than twenty-one thousand specialists have been trained directly for groups of troops and newly formed formations and military units, including about five thousand for the use of such high-tech samples as the T-90M "Breakthrough" tanks, BMP-2M with the Berezhok combat module, BMP-3, as well as various unmanned aerial systems devices.
The Minister noted that the training centers not only carry out individual training, but also train crews, crews of tanks and combat vehicles, including for formations and military units formed in new regions.
"Of course," he said, "the load on the educational network has increased significantly recently, but this should in no way affect the quality of the educational process. Training programs need to be adjusted taking into account the experience of a special military operation."
"Military personnel must master new methods of combat, be able to use weapons effectively, know the tactics and equipment of the enemy in order to skillfully resist this," Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu added.
