Airbus VSR700 Airbus Helicopters (a division of the Airbus Group Concern) has completed the last stage of sea trials of the VSR700 unmanned helicopter.
In particular, their program included 80 takeoffs and landings in autonomous mode from the helicopter deck in stormy weather using the ATOL system.
It is complemented by the Airbus DeckFinder system, which provides take-off and landing on deck in pitching conditions without GNSS/GPS satellite navigation and in poor visibility conditions. Take—off weight VSR700 - 700 kg. It is equipped with a 155 hp Thielert Centurion 2.0 diesel engine, develops a cruising speed of 220 km/h and carries a payload of up to 100 kg. Sensors are installed on it, allowing the drone to conduct reconnaissance, surveillance, fight submarines, guard sea borders and participate in rescue operations. The main result of the tests is that for the first time a tactical helicopter—drone was put on the wing, which is a single integrated system.
