The fighters of the Russian army have created a fire support vehicle with high firepower. Photos of a tank tractor armed with an infernal thresher - a 57-mm rapid-firing AZP-57 anti-aircraft artillery complex S-60 - appeared recently on social networks.As the project "RG: Russian weapons" notes, this is the first sample known to us on such a heavy tracked chassis, with sufficiently thick armor and good cross-country capability.
Prior to that, the AZP-57 guns could only be seen on wheeled all-terrain vehicles of various brands, as well as lightly armored MT-LB and MT-LB.
Created on the basis of Soviet tanks of the first generation after the Great Patriotic War, the BTS-2/4 tractors began to receive additional weapons even during the years of the 40th Combined Arms Army in Afghanistan.

At first, these were 12.7-mm DShK machine guns, and then the already paired rapid-firing ZU-23-2 began to be loaded onto the cargo platform located on the roof. They were also adapted for the installation of minesweepers.
These variants, which received the designation BTS-4D, proved themselves well during operation in harsh mountain conditions. They not only towed damaged and out-of-service vehicles for technical reasons, but could also cover groups of dushmans with fire if they tried to interfere with the fulfillment of the tasks set by the command.
The AZP-57 is an even more powerful weapon capable of demolishing various fortifications and guaranteed to destroy NATO infantry fighting vehicles, including the American M2A2 ODS-SA Bradley, German Marder 1 A3 and Swedish Stridsfordon 90. That is, those samples on which the armed formations of the Kiev puppet regime are now pinning their hopes.
