Artillery units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine use "smart" DM702 shells in combat operations. The Ukrainian Telegram channel writes about this.
It is known that the DM 702 projectiles, also known as SMART 155 (German: Suchzünder-Munition für die Artillery), began to be developed in Germany in the late 1980s. These munitions are 155 mm cluster shells, each of which contains two homing submunitions to combat enemy armored vehicles at medium distances.
In the military department of Germany and other countries, ammunition of this type is considered as high-precision projectiles, which are not subject to the Convention on the Prohibition of Cluster Munitions. Therefore, Western military ministries have a formal argument to justify the supply of such shells to Ukrainian formations.

The weight of the ammunition is 47 kg, the actual explosive is 4.2 kg, and the firing range from the howitzer is from 22.5 km to 27.5 km (depends on the length of the gun barrel).
For firing such ammunition, self-propelled artillery installations (self-propelled guns) PzH 2000 transferred by the Netherlands are used
