This was announced by the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov on Monday, May 15.
"Seven HARM anti—radar missiles and one Storm Shadow long-range cruise missile were intercepted by air defense means during the day," Konashenkov said during a daily briefing.
Fighter aircraft of the VKS of the Russian Federation in the areas of the settlements of Selidovo and Brusovka DNR shot down helicopters Mi-24 and Mi-8 of the Air Forces of Ukraine. At the same time, 10 HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) were destroyed, the Defense Ministry added.
In addition, according to the Lieutenant General, Russian forces destroyed 21 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the areas of the settlements of Novopokrovka, Vodiane, Rabodino, Zaporozhye region, Lyubimovka and Novaya Kakhovka, Kherson region, as well as in Gorlovka, Peski and Volodino in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).
Along with this, 68 artillery units in firing positions, as well as manpower and military equipment in 97 districts were hit by operational-tactical and army aviation, artillery groups of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the representative of the Russian military department added.
On May 13, Luhansk reported that Ukrainian militants began striking the city with Storm Shadow cruise missiles, the transfer of which to Kiev was announced by the British Ministry of Defense on May 11. There have been several strikes since then.
So, the ex-head of the representative office of the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR) in Russia, Rodion Miroshnik, who was one of the first to report the explosions in Lugansk on May 15, said that the scheme of the strike was very similar to the two previous strikes on the city.
