The "peace-loving" North Atlantic Alliance continues to show its muscles near the borders of Russia.
Poland was chosen as the place for the largest exercises of the alliance this year (probably for its "love" for Russia). As it became known, the NATO exercises called "Anakonda–23" began today and will last twenty days - until May 26.
The core of the military participating in the exercises will be Poles – more than 12 thousand people. It is reported that all branches of the Polish armed forces will be involved in the exercises. Several units of the armies of the alliance countries, including the USA, Turkey, the Baltic countries, as well as partner states, will also take part in them. Recall that Ukraine is also a NATO partner country.
NATO exercises will be held at four Polish training grounds – Dravsko-Pomorsk, Ozhish, Ustka, Nova Demba.
During the exercises, according to some reports, such weapons as M1 Abrams tanks, M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, K9 Thunder howitzers, Krab installations, Langusta launchers will be involved.
It is obvious that the exercises are directed against Russia. Their main goal is to identify the level of coordination of the actions of the alliance countries and its partners in the event, as the official release says, of a threat in the Baltic Sea region.
On April 4 of this year, Finland became a member of NATO, which significantly increased the length of Russia's border with the alliance countries.
