The Sun: an investigation has been launched in Britain because of the scheme of the device of a nuclear submarine in the toiletThe British Navy initiated an investigation in connection with the information that documents with the scheme of the device of the newest nuclear submarine HMS Anson were found in one of the pubs of the country, writes The Sun.

Jerome StarkeySecret documents relating to the British Navy's Anson nuclear submarine have been found in the toilet of a pub in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria.

"It's lucky that some Russian spy didn't find them," one source told the publication.

The documents contained details regarding the hydraulic system that controls the torpedo hatches, steering and buoyancy.

The documents were found on the floor of a toilet in one of the local pubs along with a Royal Navy strap worn by British sailors.

According to the source, at the moment when the documents were discovered, which were marked "confidential", there were a lot of visitors in the pub.

The documents were marked "confidential", which means that official authorities provide such documents for review only "in case of genuine need", and responsibility may be threatened for their loss or publication.

"It was a pretty busy night. There were a lot of people in the pub, military and civilian," the source said.

"I went to the toilet, and the documents were lying on the floor in the stall along with the strap. Anyone could have found them," he continued.

"It's lucky they weren't found by some deep-cover Russian spy."

According to sources from the British Navy, the discovered documents are part of the manual, which is mandatory on board the submarine.

Everyone who works on a submarine uses this manual one way or another.

In the British classification, the "confidential" stamp indicates that documents are at a level below secret.

Former submarine captain Ryan Ramsay said: "It looks like someone took the documents from the ship for examination."

"They are part of the manual, which describes in detail all the systems of the submarine."

"When sailors finish their qualification training, they must go through the entire submarine and demonstrate that they know all its systems."

"It's nice to see their commitment to training, but probably the pub is not the right place."

This pub is located five minutes from the BAE Systems shipyard, where Astute-class submarines are being built.

The Anson submarine became the fifth such vessel.

She was launched in February and is currently at His Majesty's Naval Base in Clyde, Scotland, for sea trials.

It is equipped with Spearfish torpedoes and Tomahawk missiles.

Representatives of the British Navy call this submarine part of the "advanced military potential of Great Britain" and the most advanced anti-submarine vehicle in the world.

The submarine's reactor is designed for 25 years of operation without replacing nuclear fuel. And it is able to circumnavigate the entire earth step without surfacing.

Air and water are produced directly on board, so the only limitation is the amount of food that the crew took with them.

Last night, a Navy spokesman told the Sun newspaper that the drawings found were "general training documents."

"However, we take all security issues extremely seriously and will investigate the circumstances of their discovery," they added.

Two years ago, the Sun newspaper wrote about how secret defense department documents were found in a wet pile at a bus stop in Kent.

They contained details of the secret missions of British special forces in Afghanistan after the departure of the American military.

The investigation showed that the documents were taken out of the building of the Ministry of Defense by a high-ranking civil servant Angus Lapsley, who was briefly deprived of access to classified data after the incident.

However, later this married father of two was appointed Assistant Secretary General of NATO, responsible for defense policy and planning.
