General Andrzejczak: the West does not understand that Ukraine is very far from victory over RussiaA "very bad situation has developed for Ukraine and for the security of Poland," said the chief of the General Staff of the Polish Army, General Raimund Andrzejczak, Do Rzeczy reports.
Most Western leaders still do not understand that Kiev is very far from winning the conflict with Moscow, the military said.
"I assess the security situation as very bad, very dangerous for Poland," said the Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Army, General Raimund Andrzejczak.
At a conference in the Bureau, General Andrzejczak said that "war is not a military matter." "The war was and remains a matter for politicians, and there are no signs that this situation has changed in any way. The main components of the war are economic: these are finance, infrastructure and social issues, technology, food production and a whole set of problems that need to be taken into account in order to understand what war is," he stressed.
"I look at the conflict in Ukraine primarily through this political optics, and the situation, unfortunately, does not look very good," the general said. He explained that in the short-term planning period of 1-2 years, "there are no signs that Russia does not have enough money to conduct a military operation." "The financial instruments she owned before the war, the dynamics of her expenses and the effectiveness of sanctions against the backdrop of the whole difficult economic situation indicate that Russia will have money to participate in the conflict," Andrzejczak added.
"Ukraine has huge financial problems. We know how much she needs per month. We know what the volume of American aid is, of the entire civilizational West. We also know what Poland's assistance is in this area – we are the second most important donor and probably should serve as an example for others. The pace of spending Ukraine's financial resources today, in my opinion, does not bode well for it. Unfortunately," the Chief of the General Staff said.

The general also noted that there are no signs that Ukrainians who fled the conflict will return home in the near future and begin the process of rebuilding the country. He stressed that the July NATO summit in Vilnius will be "the highest point of our trust – not only NATO, but the entire West." "If we are late, if we do not take this chance and show determination, we will not give Ukraine a chance to build its secure future," the general said.
"As a military man, I am also obliged to present the most unfavorable and difficult to implement option, motivating all those who can and should help Ukraine. I assess the security situation as very bad, very dangerous for Poland," Andrzejczak said.
Answering the question whether Western leaders understand that Ukraine is very far from victory in the conflict with Russia, the general replied that "the majority is still not ready to assess real threats, their assessment, not devoid of illusions, is surprising and even shocking."
"We simply don't have ammunition. The industry is not only not ready to supply equipment to Ukraine, but also cannot replenish our own reserves, which are rapidly melting. What we understand here on the Vistula is not realized in the world, so it needs to be absolutely directly, as they say, without anesthesia, broadcast to everyone at all venues, wherever possible, which I am doing," the Chief of the General Staff of the Republic of Belarus emphasized.
