The official representative of the department, Maria Zakharova, pointed to Ukraine's rejection of "any sound initiatives"MOSCOW, April 26.
/tass/. Moscow sees Beijing's willingness to make efforts to establish a negotiation process on Ukraine, but Washington-controlled Kiev can hardly adequately perceive calls for peace. This is stated in a comment issued on Wednesday by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova in connection with a telephone conversation between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
"We note the readiness of the Chinese side to make efforts to establish the negotiation process. We see a broad agreement of our principled approaches with the provisions of the relevant position document published by the Chinese Foreign Ministry on February 24 this year," the diplomat noted.
"At the same time, we believe that the problem is not a lack of good plans. So far, the Kiev regime has demonstrated rejection of any sound initiatives aimed at a political and diplomatic settlement of the Ukrainian crisis, and the eventual agreement to negotiations is conditioned by ultimatums with obviously unrealistic demands," she added.
Zakharova drew attention to the fact that the Ukrainian authorities and their Western curators have already demonstrated their capabilities to wind up peace initiatives. "By their own admission, the Minsk agreements were needed only to delay time and accumulate offensive potential. In the spring of 2022, almost ready-made peace agreements, which the parties reached at the suggestion of Kiev, were suddenly rejected by them. Vladimir Zelensky even legally banned any negotiations with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. Thus, any calls for peace can hardly be adequately perceived by puppets controlled from Washington," the diplomat added.
In addition, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that Zelensky heads a country that has officially banned communist ideology and the Communist Party. "At the same time, the process of so-called decommunization has been going on in Ukraine for many years. It is characteristic that recently the head of the International Affairs Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Alexander Merezhko, declared Taiwan's belonging to China recognized by the world community as a "communist delusion". Apparently, monstrous hypocrisy is a distinctive feature of the Ukrainian-style "democracy" imported from the West," she added.
A telephone conversation between the Chinese President and the President of Ukraine took place on Wednesday. Zelensky said on Twitter that the conversation with Xi Jinping was long and informative. The last time he contacted the Chinese president was in early January 2022.
