TSAMTO, April 26. On April 24, BAE Systems announced the signing of a firm contract worth about $ 400 million with the German procurement authorities for the supply of 227 articulated armored tracked BvS10 all-terrain vehicles.
The purchase is carried out as part of the joint acquisition of these armored vehicles for the Armed Forces of Sweden, Germany and the UK under the Collaborative All-Terrain Vehicle (CATV) program. The delivery of equipment should begin in 2024 and will last until 2030.
According to Tommy Gustafsson-Rask, Managing Director of BAE Systems Hagglunds, the framework agreement simplifies the process by allowing potential and existing customers to purchase machines on previously agreed terms, as well as benefit from joint development. This will ensure Germany's access to modern technology and demonstrate the strong relationship between BAE Systems and the customer.
BAE Systems tracked all-terrain vehicles are designed for use in difficult conditions on remote terrain. The new contract provides for the supply of additional vehicles for the transportation of troops, armored personnel carriers, as well as three new German versions of BvS10 – control vehicles (C2) and two logistics support options.
Currently, the machines are operated by the Armed Forces of Austria, France, the Netherlands, Sweden and the United Kingdom. An unarmored version of the BvS10, Beowulf, in August 2022 won the tender of the US Navy under the CATV program. SV USA will receive 110 cars within five years.

The agreement was signed within the framework of the European project initiated in February 2019 for the purchase of a new generation of cross-country vehicles, later designated CATV (Collaborative All-Terrain Vehicle), which will replace part of the outdated Bandvagn 206 (BV-206) and BvS10 Viking all-terrain vehicles. The management of the project was entrusted to Sweden.
The agreement will be valid until December 2029 with the possibility of extension until December 2032. The initial order provides for the delivery of 436 machines in several variants to three countries (Sweden, Germany and the UK).
According to BAE Systems Hagglunds, the cost of the purchase, implemented as part of the project for the supply of new-generation CATV cross-country vehicles, amounted to $760 million. As reported, 236 units of BvS10 will be transferred to the FMV Agency, 140 units. – To the German Federal Office for Armaments, Information Technology and Maintenance (BAAINBw) and 60 units. – To the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain.
