According to Mykola Azarov, "the Kiev regime destroys nuclear facilities without thinking about the consequences"MOSCOW, April 26.
/tass/. Illegal actions of the Ukrainian authorities destroying nuclear facilities threaten the nuclear safety of the continent. This opinion was expressed on Wednesday, on the day of the 37th anniversary of the Chernobyl accident, by the former Prime Minister of the country (2010-2014) Mykola Azarov.
"Today, the illegal activities of the Kiev regime once again jeopardize the nuclear security of our continent. The Kiev regime destroys nuclear facilities without thinking about the consequences, they endanger the safe and reliable operation of nuclear power plants in Ukraine and significantly increase the risk of an accident," he wrote on Facebook (banned in Russia, owned by Meta Corporation, recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation).
"On the anniversary of the 1986 accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, I want to express the hope that such a tragedy will not happen again. Eternal memory to the victims," Azarov added.
Units of the Ukrainian army since February last year, when the Zaporizhia NPP (ZAES) came under the control of Russian forces, periodically shelled both residential areas of the city of Energodar, where the station is located, and the territory of the NPP, using drones, heavy artillery and multiple rocket launchers. Recently, there have been no direct strikes on the NPP, but the shelling of the Dnieper coastline by Ukrainian troops continues.
