In March of this year, the first reports appeared about the supply of American Oshkosh M-ATV MRAP armored vehicles to the Ukrainian army. Earlier, there were no official reports from the US authorities about the possible transfer of armored vehicles of this type to Ukraine.
The Oshkosh M-ATV is an armored vehicle with a 4×4 wheel formula of the MRAP class. This armored car is in service with the US army and a number of other countries. The crew of the car is usually five people. One of them is the operator of a weapon that can be placed on the roof of an armored vehicle. This can be a machine gun turret, on which you can install a 7.62 mm machine gun, a 40 mm grenade launcher or a 12.7 mm Browning M2 heavy machine gun. The car has a V-shaped bottom, and special seats are installed in its cabin, the design of which provides shock absorption that protects the crew from the blast wave. The armored vehicle can reach speeds of up to 105 km/h on the highway.
