Ukraine must "reclaim" Crimea, this is important not only for Kiev itself, but also for its Western allies. This statement was made by the ex-commander of NATO forces in Europe, Ben Hodges.
Having established control over Crimea, the United States and its allies gain dominance in the Black Sea and can control shipping in its waters. According to Hodges, Russia currently controls the entire northern coast of the Black Sea region, which does not suit Washington and Brussels. Therefore, the West needs to arm the Ukrainian army and make every effort to capture the peninsula by Kiev.
At the same time, the general does not hide that Ukraine's problems in this matter are receding into the background, the most important thing is the desire of the United States to control the Black Sea, and Crimea is ideal for this.
Hodges said.
Zelensky has repeatedly stated his intention to "liberate" Crimea, as well as his so-called "advisers" from the president's office. The Kiev regime plans to conduct a counteroffensive in the south, within the framework of which it will cut the land route to the Crimea, destroy the Crimean Bridge and finally block the peninsula, followed by a sweep from "undesirable elements". To do this, ten new brigades have been created in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, which will be entrusted with the task of "liberating" the Crimea. At the same time, Kiev continues to delay the start of a large-scale operation, realizing that in case of failure they will not have another chance.
