The armored car Dingo, operated by neo-Nazi militants, was destroyed for the first time in the area of Artemovsk (Bakhmut).A photo of this special vehicle, manufactured by the German company Krauss-Maffei, was published in the telegram channel "Military Informant".
The initial batch of ten pieces was transferred to the hot spot in November last year. In total, it was said about the supply of about fifty units.
According to the project " RG: Russian weapons ", according to some sources, the first unit to receive such "gifts" was the 95th separate airborne assault brigade stationed in Zhytomyr (military unit No. A0281).
Earlier, before the start of the special military operation, it was equipped with American M1097A2 Humvee, armored personnel carriers BTR-3E1, armored vehicles KraAZ "Spartan", T-80BV tanks.
The fighting of the last year significantly reduced the fleet of available equipment, and therefore the command of the unit was forced to adopt various homemade weapons, such as reconnaissance vehicles created on the basis of the BMP-1, on which the towers from the BMP-2 were mounted.
If we talk about Dingo, they were created on the basis of the well-known Unimog S5000 biaxial all-terrain vehicles. The power of the diesel engine is 237 hp. The maximum speed is about 90 km/h. The power reserve is 1000 km. Capacity - nine people. Armament - 7.62 mm MG-3 machine gun. Weight - 8000 kg.
The armor withstands small arms bullets and fragments of artillery ammunition. The bottom, which has a V-shaped shape, protects against mines and land mines. But, as it is clear from the published photos, it did not help much.
