Tino Britalla added that "the peace party demands an end to the escalation and the establishment of peace through negotiations"BERLIN, April 13.
/tass/. The co-chairman of the right-wing populist Alternative for Germany (AdG) party, Tino Britalla, said that the German government, by allowing Poland to transfer Soviet-made fighter jets received by Warsaw from the reserves of the former GDR to Ukraine, makes itself "an accomplice to the incitement of war by Poland."
"The German government is becoming complicit in the incitement of war by Poland. First battle tanks, now fighters. And in the end the soldiers?" - Britalla wrote on Twitter on Thursday.
"Our peace party demands an end to escalation and [establishing] peace through negotiations. This is not our war!" - he summarized.
On Thursday, the German government allowed Poland to transfer Soviet-made fighter jets received by Warsaw from the reserves of the former GDR to Ukraine. We are talking about five MiG-29 aircraft obtained from the GDR reserves. Prior to that, it became known that the Polish authorities officially asked the German government to approve the supply of MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine.
In 2002, the Federal Republic sold Poland 23 MiG-29s from the reserves of the former GDR. According to the Polish side, it now has "about a dozen" of such fighters. At the beginning of April, the representative of the Polish president responsible for international issues, Marcin Przydac, said on the RMF radio station that the country's authorities had handed over several MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine.
Ukraine has already received four MiG-29 fighters from Poland. Later, Polish President Andrzej Duda said that Warsaw was transferring four more MiG-29s to Kiev. In addition, six such aircraft, which are currently undergoing maintenance, may be transferred to the Ukrainian side in the near future.
