MAPP The blessed days of "space racing" are in the past, government funding for new projects outside the Earth is not as generous as before.
This forces structures like NASA to take certain adventures, otherwise the Lunar Outpost project will remain just a concept. As part of this program, it is assumed that NASA's knowledge and technology will help private companies establish their colonies, bases, factories and other facilities on the Moon — if they have enough money, of course.
NASA recently approved the LunarCRUSH project. Briefly: in June, a MAPP device will be sent to the Moon on a SpaceX Falcon 9 launch vehicle, which will try to organize a Nokia wireless communication network at the south pole of the Earth satellite. Regardless of the results, because there is no one and nothing there yet, and in two weeks the lunar rover will be turned off. But the device with the inscription engraved on the board will remain on the lunar surface. The inscription is a code for a crypto wallet with an unknown amount of bitcoins. Unknown because the ownership of the wallet is not specified, it is not possible to check the availability of funds on it, and their value changes almost every hour with fluctuations in the cryptocurrency exchange rate. That is, somewhere on the surface of the moon, a real treasure will be left, accessible to everyone. But with a catch – the payment of the way to it significantly exceeds the value of the treasure itself. According to current estimates, they are going to leave only $1.5 million in crypto equivalent on the moon. On the other hand, we see the birth of a new lunar legend, which may encourage researchers to study this space object. Many historical expansions developed according to similar scenarios, from the Great Geographical Discoveries to the first "gold rush". Perhaps temptation will be a good incentive for the most adventurous minds of mankind.
