The company Anduril Industries, which produces drones of the Air-Launched, Tube-Integrated, Unmanned System 600 (ALTIUS 600) series, showed tests of the ALTIUS 600M kamikaze drone. The American edition of The Drive drew attention to the corresponding video.
The drone hit a target on the container, which led to an explosion. It is noted that the type and mass of the ALTIUS 600M warhead are unknown. The weight of the basic version of the drone, which can carry up to 3.1 kilograms of payload, ranges from 9 to 12 kilograms.
The video also showed the work of several drones as part of a swarm. Drones that can carry payloads for electronic warfare, communications relay and reconnaissance are capable of performing various tasks. The ALTIUS 600M can hit targets detected by other drones.
ALTIUS 600 drones can be launched from land, sea and air platforms. The maximum range of the drone is 440 kilometers. The drone can stay in the air for at least four hours.
In May 2022, it became known that during tests conducted by the US Army, one operator controlled a swarm of 28 ALTIUS 600 drones. Drones were launched from aircraft and ground installations.
