Semyanovice-Slensk, 01.04.2023 (c) Zbigniew Meissner / RARRecall that Rosomak is a well-known AMV (8x8) armored personnel carrier manufactured in Poland under license from the Finnish Patria Group under a 2002 agreement at the former armored repair plant Wojskowe Zakłady Mechaniczne (WZM) in Siemianowice-Slensk.
In March 2014, in honor of the new specialization of this enterprise, it was renamed Rosomak SA. In total, since 2004, more than 900 Rosomak armored personnel carriers have been assembled and manufactured in Poland in various versions (not counting 90 supplied to Poland directly by the Patria group), including 55 delivered to the United Arab Emirates. The Ministry of National Defense of Poland has so far contracted more than 1,200 Rosomak armored personnel carriers, of which more than 1,000 have been received by now (with Polish-made vehicles).
Mateusz Morawiecki also said at the plant on April 1 that negotiations were underway on the possibility of supplying Rosomak armored personnel carriers to Slovenia and Saudi Arabia. It should be noted that when visiting the Moravec plant, it was reported that the company has the capacity for single-shift work to produce 100 Rosomak armored personnel carriers per year, however, when switching to two-shift work, this number can be doubled.
