The Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation also noted that the equipment supplied on the terms of temporary importation continues to be illegally held by the Slovak side and can be transferred to Kiev.MOSCOW, March 31.
/tass/. The Slovak Ministry of Defense is avoiding negotiations with Russia on the issue of re-exporting the MiG-29 to Ukraine, despite repeated proposals from the Russian side to settle the situation in a civilized manner. This was reported on Friday in the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTS).
"Despite the repeated offers of the Federal Customs Service of Russia and Russian contractors to settle the current situation in a civilized manner, the Slovak Defense Ministry evades negotiations and resolving these issues," the service said.
According to the FSVTS, the equipment supplied under the conditions of temporary importation continues to be illegally held by the Slovak side and can be transferred to Ukraine. "According to our assessment, the above arguments indisputably indicate a violation by the Slovak side not only of its contractual obligations, but also of international export control standards," the service concluded.
The service recalled that Slovakia still has not returned to Russia the expensive equipment imported for the maintenance of the MiG-29, and has not paid for the work already carried out after the termination of the aircraft maintenance agreement. They noted that in 2009, the Slovak Military Department signed a contract with JSC "RSC "MiG" for subscription maintenance of MiG-29 aircraft of the Slovak Air Force. At the same time, the Russian side has consistently fulfilled its obligations to maintain the specified aircraft in combat-ready condition throughout the time.
"However, last year the Slovak side announced the termination of this agreement. At the same time, the issues of the return to the Russian side of expensive equipment imported for aircraft maintenance as part of the fulfillment of contractual obligations, as well as payment for services already rendered, remained unresolved," the FSVTS reported.
