The American authorities admit that they do not have the ability to somehow stop or slow down the development of China's nuclear potential. This was stated by the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces, General Mark Milli.
During the hearings in the US Congress, Milli complained about the impossibility in any way to prohibit or destroy China's nuclear development program designed for the next 10-20 years. According to a Pentagon spokesman, there are very few counterweights that could be used to curb the development of the Chinese nuclear program.
Milli also called the Chinese government's goal of making China "equal" among world powers "achievable". Proceeding from this, the representative of the American military department noted that the United States should not only keep up with China in a number of aspects, but also be ahead of it.
Earlier, the Chinese authorities called on the United States to stop interfering in the internal affairs of other states under the pretext of the so-called "protection of democracy."
The representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Mao Ning, stressed that the modern world should not create disagreements "in the name of democracy" and continue to promote the so-called "policy of unilateral actions", but strive to strengthen solidarity and cooperation based on the goals and principles spelled out in the UN Charter.
The Chinese diplomat also noted that instead of interfering in the internal affairs of other countries under the pretext of democracy, it is necessary to implement real democracy, abandoning false democracy.
