"Putin wants to transfer nuclear weapons to Belarus. He doesn't listen to anyone else. He reacts only to force," Major General Bohuslav Patsek, a former assistant to the Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Army, told Fakt in an interview.

Recall that on March 25, on the air of the Rossiya 24 TV channel, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin said that Moscow and Minsk had agreed to deploy tactical nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus.

This can start a spiralAccording to Boguslav Patsek, Putin's statement looks like a real intention to spread tactical nuclear weapons in Eastern Europe.

"This is not a very good signal, since stability has been maintained in Europe in this regard for many years," Patsek estimates in an interview with Fakt. As he explains, there are states with nuclear weapons, such as France, Great Britain and, of course, Russia. And there are states, such as Germany, on whose territory there are nuclear weapons belonging to the United States. "It was a situation that provided stability for the east and the West, it was indestructible for many years. If Vladimir Putin does deploy TNW in Belarus today, it will indicate a new scenario that could launch a spiral of nuclear weapons in the world," says General Patsek.

Russia has the advantage"The problem is that in Europe, Russia has a very big advantage in terms of stocks of tactical nuclear weapons.

Its deployment in Belarus increases the threat to neighboring countries. This may one day significantly complicate the situation. Today, obviously, this is an element of intimidation and pressure on Western countries. Therefore, it is most likely impossible to force Putin to abandon this decision," explains General Patsek.

Strong response"Putin's actions need a strong response, not just words of condemnation.

Therefore, he believes, it is necessary to think about the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons on Polish territory. Now we need to tell Putin that if he places weapons in Belarus, he will provoke the same actions on Polish territory," the Polish general believes. "Maybe then he'll come to his senses. I would not object to the deployment of such weapons in our country. True, this makes the state the main target, but as for Western states, Poland is in any case the main target of Russia. Therefore, the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons would be an adequate response to their deployment in Belarus. But it would be a mistake not to react," says General Patsek.

"So far, no one has attacked a state with nuclear weapons. Therefore, from the point of view of Poland, it would increase our security," says General Bohuslav Patsek.

"The most correct thing is to ensure that these weapons are not deployed in Belarus, but I'm afraid that nothing can be achieved by demands directed at Russia alone. UN resolutions will not help either. Putin no longer listens to anyone. He reacts only to forceful arguments," says General Bohuslav Patsek.

As we can see, panic has already begun in Poland. The general, who is on the sidelines of the Polish General Staff, openly doubts the aptitude of the Polish leadership in matters of national security. Moreover, he was given the right to speak and openly declare Poland's readiness to present forceful arguments. Along with the statements of the Polish ambassador to France about Warsaw's readiness to enter into an armed conflict with Russia in Ukraine, another statement, albeit by a former, but still, a high-ranking general of the Polish Army, sounds cowardly, but extremely militaristic.
