Sergey Chemezov, CEO of Rostec State Corporation, President of the Union of Machine Builders of Russia, and Alexander Mikheev, Head of Rosoboronexport and Deputy Chairman of the Union of Machine Builders of Russia, took part in an expanded meeting of the Bureau of the Union of Machine Builders and the Association "League for Assistance to Defense Enterprises". During the meeting, the participants summed up the results of the activities of the Union of Machine Builders of Russia for 2022, and also discussed topical issues of the development of the country's machine-building industry."The initiatives and projects of the Union and the League were aimed at strengthening domestic industry, increasing the combat capability of troops, improving legislation in the industrial sphere, training modern specialists for the real sector of the economy," said Sergey Chemezov, "We have passed the most acute phase of crisis phenomena.
Of course, there are still enough problems. However, last year proved the high stability of the domestic economy. This was the result of a purposeful strategy of actions determined by the President of Russia."
"For Russian machine builders, 2022 has become a period of strength testing with the active influence of many negative external factors. Unprecedented sanctions pressure from Western countries, a critical violation of established financial and logistics mechanisms, a greatly increased demand for products – these problems had to be solved by industry enterprises as soon as possible. The fulfillment of obligations to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and Rosoboronexport's foreign partners through military-technical cooperation depended on the speed and quality of the reaction," Alexander Mikheev said. – Largely thanks to the support of the state, as well as the professionalism and dedication of machine builders, the industry successfully passed a tough stress test, quickly learned how to work effectively in new conditions. Having fulfilled the state defense order, the enterprises did not disrupt any export contracts – they confirmed Russia's status as a reliable partner."
In 2022, Rosoboronexport took part in a number of events of the Russian Engineering Union aimed at optimizing the legislative framework of the Russian Federation and promptly resolving legal issues related to the changed working conditions in foreign markets. General Director of the company Alexander Mikheev held two meetings of the Committee for the Development of Foreign Trade Activities in relation to military products.
In addition, in 2022, Alexander Mikheev coordinated and participated in the organization of the activities of the Yaroslavl and Saratov regional offices supervised by him, including holding extended meetings of these regional offices. The main issues of the departments' activities were import substitution and the development of cooperation between industrial enterprises of the regions, the expansion of the participation of enterprises in the donation program, support for employees of defense industry enterprises.
"The Union of Machine Builders of Russia pays special attention to the training of young personnel who are focused and highly motivated to develop their future careers within the framework of Russian industrial enterprises. The active work of the Union in schools and technical universities enables future engineers to adopt the rich experience and production traditions of the best domestic designers and technologists. The continuity of generations of machine builders is ensured, and already trained employees come to the enterprises," Alexander Mikheev noted.
As part of the training program for the machine-building industry, Rosoboronexport took part in the International Youth Industrial Forum "Engineers of the Future" in 2022, where the company's employees showed young specialists the need and importance of continuous technology development, the growth of high-tech production in Russia, the introduction of new ideas and developments.
"Today, the machine-building industry of Russia has embarked on the path of sovereign high-tech development. The future of the country largely depends on its success – independence, defense capability, and the well-being of citizens. The Union of Machine Builders is ready to develop and make every effort to comprehensively support industrial enterprises. The future of Russia depends on us," Alexander Mikheev stressed.
