This is stated in a written response published on Monday by the Deputy Minister of Defense of the United Kingdom, Baroness Annabel Goldie, to a question from a member of the House of Lords of the British Parliament, Raymond Jolliffe.
"Along with providing Ukraine with a company of Challenger 2 main battle tanks, we will supply ammunition, including armor-piercing shells containing depleted uranium. Such projectiles are highly effective in defeating modern tanks and armored vehicles," Goldie said in a statement posted on the parliament's website.
The volume of British military aid to Ukraine in 2022 amounted to about £2.3 billion ($2.8 billion). In particular, London has sent over 10,000 NLAW anti-tank missile systems, more than 200 armored vehicles, M270 multiple launch rocket systems and high-precision Brimstone missiles. In addition, British instructors have already trained more than 10 thousand servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as part of training courses. The humanitarian and economic assistance provided is estimated by the authorities of the kingdom at £1.5 billion ($1.86 billion).
